Karana & Asana

Karana, the folding and unfolding of the body's 6 limbs in action with a bodily stance in a low or high squat, a gesture (mudra) with the hands and movements of the feet. Swaying, stepping and circling transitions link one Karana to another.

There are 6 different moving  Karana forms.

Consistent practice of the Karana forms brings to life the rhythmic life currents hidden in the body and can lead to a peaceful space within.

Karana: the causal factor
Ka: space
Ra: fire, transformation
Ana: posture, shape, breathing

A beautiful practice cultivating a moving meditation that takes one's mind to a still place for the seated Asana practice and seated meditation.
